03Maintenance schedule
PLEASE DISCONNECT POWER BEFORE ATTEMPTING ANY ELECTRICAL MAINTENANCE
Daily
  • Clean both the inside and outside surface of the door. Use a clean damp cloth with a mild soap solution, wipe all surfaces and make sure that it is dry. Do not use any harsh cleaning liquids such as ammonia-based products. The interior and exterior of the door are either Acrylume, or Stainless Steel; any difficult stains should be cleaned with a non-abrasive metal polish.
  • The floor panels should be cleaned using a warm soapy solution or an approved NSF cleaning solution. Do not allow puddles to build up on the floor. Do not use any harsh chemicals to clean the floor.
Weekly
  • Inspect thermocouple placement.
Monthly
  • Clean gaskets and door sweep. Use a warm water solution of one part baking soda. Dry all gaskets after cleaning.
  • Inspect the inside release mechanism to ensure proper operation.
  • Inspect light fixtures and observe for any moisture intrusion.
  • Inspect interior walls for missing cam lock plug holes. If missing, replace immediately to prevent moisture from entering.
  • Make sure that there are no obstructions around the unit.
Bi-Annually (Employees)
  • Inspect door gaskets and sweeps (Replacement may be necessary in three years).
Bi-Annually/Annually (Licensed Refrigeration Technician)
  • Check the door sweep for proper contact against the threshold.
  • Check the gaskets between the panels to make sure that they are not hard or cracked to ensure proper sealing.
  • At least once a year clean the evaporator and condensing unit; make sure all debris is removed from the coils and fins. If placed outside, inspect and clean more often.
  • Check the wiring and electrical components to make sure all wiring connections are tight and not corroded. Observe kinks or peeled-off insulation.
  • Check that all ground connections are tight and secure.
  • Check the insulation of the suction lines between the evaporator and condensing unit to make sure they are not decayed or missing.
  • Check drain pans to make sure they are clear of debris or ice buildup.
  • Check the operation of all fans to make sure they run free and quiet.
  • Check fan blades for wear and cleanliness. Dirty fan blades can add drag to the system.
  • Lubricate any motors where applicable.
  • Check the operation of the defrost control system and fan cycles.
  • Check the refrigeration manufacturer's install and maintenance manual for a more detailed maintenance plan.
Annually
  • Inspect door hinges.
  • Inspect fastening hardware to make sure that they are tight and secure.
