The following maintenance items are recommended by the manufacturer per the listed schedule.

Monthly

– Clean walls with warm water and a mild soap solution. (Use especially formulated cleaners for freezer surfaces available at most food supply distributors.)
– Dry thoroughly to prevent ice buildup.
– Do NOT use caustic or abrasive cleaners.
– Use ONLY a WELL WRUNG OUT damp mop to clean floor panels.
– Do NOT use a hose or pressure washer to clean your walk-in.

– Inspect door gasket and sweep for cracks or gaps
– Clean door gaskets and sweep using a baking soda and warm water mixture and wipe dry with a soft cloth.
– From the inside and with the door closed, inspect your walk-in for light coming from around the door. Check for light coming through penetrations from sprinklers, electrical lines and refrigeration lines. If you see light, contact your service professional to correct this issue.
– Inspect walk-in hardware to ensure it is functioning properly and that fasteners are firmly anchored (hinges, handles, lock, safety release, door threshold, etc.).
– Inspect door heater trace on freezer doors. Place your hand on the metal channel of the frame section and ensure the frame feels warm to touch.

Quarterly– Refrigeration equipment maintenance shall be performed by a licensed professional. Most refrigeration service companies offer comprehensive Preventive Maintenance (PM) plans. At a minimum the plan should include quarterly inspections and cleanings of fan blades, coils, drain lines, electrical wiring, etc.
– Important Note: Some locations may require monthly cleanings. Your refrigeration professional will be the best person to recommend the right cadence for your PM based on your location and usage.
Semi-Annually– Lubricate hinge pins and sockets with heavy duty food safe petroleum lubricant.
